The Samsung Galaxy A70 is starting to receive the March 2024 Android security patch update. The update is currently rolling out in the US and UAE and should hit other regions soon. The update fixes 62 vulnerabilities, including two critical CVEs and 29 high-level CVEs.

In order to install this update, you must have enough space on your device and a fully charged battery. The update is currently only available for Samsung’s Carrier Locked Variant, SM-A705U. The firmware version is A705USQS2DVC1.
Rolling out to unlocked variants
The latest software update for the Samsung A70 is now rolling out to the carrier-locked variants of the phone in the US.
The updated firmware has a build number of A705USQS2DVC1, which is not the same as the one that unlocked users are receiving. The update is around 2.3GB and brings April 2024 security patches, as well as a number of other improvements.
In March of this year, Samsung released the Galaxy A70 with Android 9.0 Pie, and it’s now likely that the device will receive an Android 11 update at some point.
